Message from Sandy and Henry Haywood ~ Community Managers
This is our first contribution to the “Bits & Pieces” and we wanted to start out by thanking everyone for the warm welcome and hospitality that we have been shown. We are very blessed to be a part of this great community, and look forward to getting to know all of you. Thank you for your patience as we try to learn names!
We were graciously invited to the “Cinco de Mayo” party, and we were very impressed. It was apparent that much time and effort went into this event, and a good crowd enjoyed the wonderful food and festivities.
The “Mother's Day” brunch was a lovely way to start off the weekend, and again, the time and energy that went into this were certainly acknowledged and much appreciated by everyone. The skit was so creative, and gave all of us a good laugh.
We have put up our new "Welcome Home" flags, as have our other Rickert Properties. As we were touring the area this weekend, the flags were a great way to recognize the other Rickert Properties.
We have power washed the sidewalks along Schumacher and are continuing to find ways to make our park neat and appealing to all that live and visit here.
Please remove any outdated items from any of the bulletin boards so we can keep them current and neat in appearance.
Please remember that we are under a water restriction for sprinklers. Our specified watering times are Tuesdays and Fridays before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
We are here to serve and help all of you in any way that we can, and to protect and care for this great community, so, let us know if there is anything we can do for you. Remember to tell your friends and family about the wonderful properties that are available here!
“Remember, that no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted”
Summer Activities ~ Sue Cronin
Memorial Day Party
Monday, May 29th, at 3 p.m.
This is a pot luck dinner with the Association providing “Sloppy Joes”, so, come on down to the Clubhouse and let’s celebrate! I sure do love “pot luck” dinners, what fantastic cooks live in Sebring Village! We will be playing some fun games with prizes to the winners. If you’re up to it, after all the great food we're going to eat and all the laughs we'll have, bring your swim gear for a fun “Water Volleyball” game to finish off your day Let's hope Leslie shows up to play, so we can bounce the ball off her head, (seems like that happens a lot when she plays). There will be a sign-up sheet on the Clubhouse bulletin board. Please sign up so we can get an idea of how many "Sloppy Joes" to make. So, get ready for a really fun filled day. We will be providing coffee, tea and lemonade, but, feel free to bring your own beverages.
Playing Catch Up…
Our first ever, “Cinco De Mayo,” was a great success. The margaritas went over very well and the food was fantastic. Our photo booth was a real hit and I recommend you all go to the website and try to guess who everyone is. I must say, it was a real “hoot” seeing you all in mustaches that you had to wear for our Mexican dress-up race. There were so many people who pitched in to make it enjoyable for all who attended. Thank you goes out to Lanie Powers, Jan Tomasello, Suellen, Marsha and Jan. Thank you also to Angie Arnsbarger, Jean Harvey, Sandy Taylor and Judy Chidester. Thank you also to all who helped set up and clean-up such as Jack Harpin and Jean Harvey. Thank you to Leslie Maschue and Alberta for taking all the left overs to the mission. Thank you Carol DeArmitt for making our ponchos. Special thanks goes out to Ellie Richmond for helping with tickets. I am sure I have missed someone and for that I apologize. Thank you, Thank you all! You guys are the best! I am so happy to say that Cheryl Wilson is back on the mend and back to helping with the planning, cooking and decorating for our summer activities.
Mother's Day Brunch and Skit
Now, this was really fun! The food, as always, was fantastic and the waitresses and our waiter really made this so very special. What can I possibly say about our skit, “Ma Ma’s Close Call”? Leslie Maschue is bound to get a call from Hollywood, she was fantastic and so darn funny. Charlie and Harley, as usual, made us all laugh and our telemarketer, Cheryl Wilson, was a natural. Lanie and Greg Powers were perfect paramedics. (Of course, I would not recommend that you call them in case of an emergency, don’t do it!) Thank you to all who helped with the cooking, prep work, and cleaning up - Lanie Powers, Jean Harvey, Cheryl Wilson, Joann Briglia, Angie Arnsbarger, Jean Harvey, Leslie Maschue, Jean Knutson, Jan Uncapher, Bunny Flandermeyer, Mary Negro, Marsha, and of course, Jan Tomasello and Jack Harpin. I am sure I left some very important person out.... forgive me.
We will be selling tickets in the Clubhouse for all the summer activities every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 1p.m. - 3p.m. All are welcome to stop by on those days and hours. Not only do we sell tickets, but this is the time that we make decorations for all our activities. Helpful hands are always appreciated and we do have fun!
Thank you “Summer Committee” ~ Cheryl Wilson
Well as most of you know I was to be the “Chairperson” for the “Summer Committee’s” first event, “Cinco De Mayo”. But, as fate would have it, a greater power had a different plan for me. I ended up in the hospital for an emergency gall bladder surgery! So, my most thankful gratitude goes out to the entire “Summer Committee” who all stepped up to the plate and helped with all the food prep, decorations and cleanup. It was a wonderful “Cinco De Mayo” event. These ladies worked many hours to bring our “first event” to all of you and they pulled it off seamlessly. Great job everyone! Thank you all for making this event a fun and lively afternoon for all!

This is a two-night event and you must pay for each night. We are going to show two different movies. On Saturday night, we will show “The Boynton Beach Club”. This is a very funny and entertaining movie that is sure to make you laugh. I think you might even be able to imagine some of your neighbors in this movie. (OMG, does “she” or “he” ever remind me of “so and so” down the street?) I think once you see this movie you will know what I mean.
On Sunday night, we will be showing “The First Wives Club.” This is a very smart and funny movie I am sure you will all enjoy. It stars Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, Diane Keaton and many more stars.
You will be given free popcorn when you enter the Clubhouse. The Snack Bar will be open at 5 p.m. and our movie will start around 6:15 p.m. If you do not want to watch the movie, please stop by and buy a hot dog with all the fixings. There are also assorted chips, sodas, root beer floats, ice cream sundaes and cheese nachos. Our Snack Bar will be open the entire length of the movie.
So, come on down, beat the heat in our wonderfully air conditioned Clubhouse and enjoy a night out for a very reasonable price. If you want to bring your own lawn chair, please do.
There is a sign- up sheet on the bulletin board which will give us some idea of how much food we’ll need on hand to serve you.
