From the Editor ~ Liz Edwards

Hello Everyone, I just wanted to say that I am thrilled to be the new Editor of the “Bits & Pieces.” I will be learning much on this journey and look forward to all that lies ahead. I would like to thank Barb Gephart for the tremendous job she has done as Editor these past four years. She has been such an inspiration to me and I am thankful for all the guidance and knowledge she has shared. In our first meeting, it didn’t take long for me to recognize the pride she has and the time and energy she has devoted to this newsletter. I think you will agree with me that we all owe Barb a huge debt of gratitude for all she has done to make the “Bits & Pieces” what it is today.

From the Association ~ Walt D’Alessandris

This is probably the last article I will be writing for the next couple of months. Folks are leaving everyday and we wish them safety and “Godspeed,” on their journey home. We must keep in mind the residents who are ill or have lost a loved one. Our prayers will go a long way in helping them to stay strong and in good health.

Both Association and Corporation Boards will continue meeting and striving to come up with a solution in merging in a fashion that will be satisfactory to all residents. Nothing will be concrete until we meet with our legal counsel and all the members return and have a say in the process. In closing, the Board wants to thank everybody who contributed in one way or another in making the season a success and made Sebring Village a great place to call home. Remember to do something nice for your neighbor.

Benevolences ~ Amy Slane

“Get Well” wishes extended to Linda Seliga and Helen Andres for the hospital stays. Prayers of comfort, love and support in our loss of two beloved residents Lorna Buckert and Don Brown.

A Personal Note to All ~ Sue Cronin

I would like to thank you all for all the condolence cards you sent in Memory of my Mom, Lorna Buckert, who passed away on March 27th.

A “very special thanks” goes out to Suellen, Jan, Marsha, Jean, and Cheryl for helping me, with the, “Celebration of Life” for Mom.

I would also like to thank Glenda and the Association for their contributions. You all have lifted me up and helped me through a very difficult time and for that I will always be sincerely thankful. Mom would have been so pleased.

Thank You ~ Glenda Gray

J.U.L.I.E.T.’s Luncheon ~ Becky Moore & Linda Gibson

The Sebring Village JULIETs luncheoned together Thursday, April 13th, at “Homer's” in Sebring Square. There were 36 in attendance. We had a new JULIET join us, and that was Mary Negron. Thank you, and welcome, Mary! We also had a guest joining us and that was Linda Zahn, sister-in-law of Mary Zahn. Thank you, Linda, for joining us! Our blessing was given by Leslie Maschue, and it was lovely, as always. Thank you, Leslie. In keeping with the Easter Season, there were plastic eggs at each JULIET's seat, and a slip of paper for their name. They put their name in the egg, and then the eggs were put in a decorative bag. An egg was drawn out for a free lunch/dinner from Homer's and the winner was Sharon Bente. Congratulations Sharon! After enjoying a great lunch, the JULIETs participated in a game, read by Becky Moore. Each JULIET kept score from the questions asked, and then totaled their points. The winner was Sharon Schaller, with 180 points. Great going, Sharon!! Sharon received an Easter Basket made by Glenda and Becky, filled with goodies, and a solar bunny. Congratulations Sharon! After a short discussion, and a show of hands, our next JULIET’s Luncheon will be at the “Caddy Shack” on May 11 at 12:00 noon. Thank you, JULIETs, for attending and we hope to see many of you next month at the “Caddy Shack.” Please, don’t forget to add your name to the list on the sign-up sheet on the Bulletin Board in the Clubhouse. We hope everyone had a very Happy and Blessed Easter.
